UK's Best Workplaces for Wellbeing 2025
26 June 2025

Today, we announced the 2025 UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing: the organisations placing employee wellbeing at the heart of their workplace culture.

These organisations enable flexibility, work-life balance, job security and strong manager-employee relationships to provide a great work experience for all.

Meet the listmakers

At Business First Partnership, No.1 Small UK's Best Workplace for Wellbeing, employees value the genuine care that managers display for their people, with 100% agreeing that management "shows sincere interest in [them] as a person, not just an employee."

As one employee put it: "They genuinely care, not just about your work life but your personal life too. I feel that I can come to my colleagues or management with anything and I know I will be received with kindness and support."

No.1 Medium UK's Best Workplace for Wellbeing Hatmill is a teal organisation, operating a non-hierarchal structure where employees govern themselves. When asked what makes their employer a great place to work, Hatmill's employees again and again referenced this ethos of self-management:

"Our structure enables us to work effectively, by breaking down communication barriers to achieving the best results personally and for our clients," explained one. "I feel I can talk to every single member of the team about anything and it would be met with understanding, knowledge and support"

Similarly, colleagues at No.1 Large UK's Best Workplace for Wellbeing NVIDIA say they greatly appreciate that the company’s “mission is what guides decisions, not hierarchy”.

As one employee explains: “I am trusted to do my job and make decisions. Policies are in place to ensure that there is clarity, but open communication and one-on-one judgements are often used to resolve queries or conflict. This flexible environment fosters a spirit of being listened to as an individual and not just a number following a process.”

It’s a trend that’s becoming increasingly common among Best Workplaces, like NVIDIA and Hatmill, who are cultivating a culture characterised by high-trust leadership, autonomy, and psychological safety. No matter what their role or tenure, employees at these top-performing organisations feel empowered to take risks, share ideas, and admit mistakes freely without fear of negative consequences.

"A genuine culture of caring about its employees and their wellbeing from the top down" makes No.1 Super Large UK's Best Workplace for Wellbeing Aviva uniquely great, says one employee.

The insurance giant employs over 19000 colleagues, many of whom praised the emphasis on work-life balance in their Trust Index survey – in fact, 93% said they were "able to take time off work when they thought it necessary", compared to the UK average of 66%.

"The flexibility in terms of work life balance matters so much," says one employee. "Being able to step out for appointments when the need arises, being able to have flexible start and end times to the days, being able to work from home for most of the week, makes me feel considered and cared for."
