What inspires us

We offer a multitude of opportunities for all of our people, whether they want to progress and develop or simply do their job to the best of their abilities. 

We have implemented a series of impactful initiatives to champion and support health and wellbeing, including mental health, giving employees a greater say in the business, supporting a healthy working lifestyle and provide life-changing experiences. Local champions are shaping awareness programmes for health and wellbeing, and annually we run ‘know your numbers’ workshops to help employees become more aware of the significance of factors like their BMI, blood pressure and physical age so that they can make more informed decisions about their lifestyles. 

We demonstrate more fun and engaging approaches to fitness by incorporating activities such as our annual mud run into GEF-FEST, our annual family weekend. And globally, team members can get involved in our corporate Sports Day – typically hosted in one of our European cities – where employees get an opportunity to participate in a diverse mix of events including archery, petanque, basketball, running, cycling and football.

Action highlights

Our approach is that working hard is a given, and in return we offer industry-leading opportunities for self-development and a competitive package. This includes 24 days standard annual leave, a contributory pension scheme where we invest up to 7% into our team members’ pension fund, a bonus linked to performance, life assurance, gym or BUPA membership, salary sacrifice initiatives, an employee car scheme, a day off on their birthday and, for long service, sabbaticals of up to two weeks.

Three years ago we embarked on a mission to truly transform our UK business. This provided us with an opportunity to take stock of what was working well (and what wasn’t) and allowed us to develop a plan for how we wanted to change things.
