"At the Group’s inception, the vision was to become a leading and outstanding provider of housing, which all others aspire to and look where we are now! It has been a long journey and as a Group we have come so far! We have always moved forward and I am delighted to have been here from the beginning - I have really enjoyed my career at the Group. Bidding farewell to my colleagues will be the hardest goodbye as I retire in 2021. I’ve worked with the most wonderful people throughout the years."
Regardless of their role or the company they work for, all employees within The Sovini Group live by a common purpose: creating opportunities and changing lives.
When it comes to promoting how great it is to work at The Sovini Group, we're happy to let our employees do that talking!
"Joining the Group was a life-changing decision for my family and I. I now have excellent career prospects and feel like a valued member of the Group. In addition, thanks to agile working and the Group's Health and Wellbeing programme, I have a great work-life balance. Most importantly, I am able to be 'mum' and also a professional in my field."
“Within my first couple of weeks with the company I found myself working out with the CEO and having a chat with him. Things like that put you at ease and make you feel welcome.”
Throughout 2020-21, colleagues from across the Group were challenged with the effects of COVID-19, both professionally and personally.
The Group launched a ‘Brownie and a Brew’ initiative. This concept was to bring colleagues together virtually over a brownie… and a brew, delivered to their doorstep! The delicious and branded brownie, plus all the resources to make a brew, brought together employees virtually during unprecedented circumstances.
This was just one of many initiatives the Group kick-started to combat social isolation during periods of lockdown. In addition, the Group launched 'Call-a-Colleague too:
"I really like the 'Call-a-Colleague' idea - too often we go from one meeting, or piece of work, to the next and we forget that it's good to talk! In a more agile environment this may be the equivalent of passing in the office, or chatting in the Bistro queue."
Managing Director for Housing
The Group continues to buck the national trend on gender pay, with a gap of -6.20% in 2020/21 in favour of female employees.
“Sovini is an inclusive employer, with equality at the heart of our culture. Our commitment to fair and equal pay remains strong, as we strive to be industry leaders in the area of gender pay.”
Group Director of People and Learning
“This past 12 months have been difficult for employees, companies, sectors and industries across the globe. Through collaborative work and forward-thinking, the Group has continued to ‘create opportunities and change lives’. Our commitment to our customers and communities, is testament to our employees' dedication.
The COVID-19 pandemic has also been the catalyst for change, adopting a new agile way of working for many of our employee's. Our offices may be empty but our culture remains full."
