The Sovini Group

Construction, Infrastructure & Real Estate
About us

The Sovini Group is a property, construction and facilities management company.

The members within the Group work together to support thriving, inclusive communities, charitable causes and to increase the supply and quality of affordable housing and related services.

Formed in 2011 The Sovini Group comprises both not-for-profit organisations and commercial companies. We are distinct from conventional housing groups in that our commercial businesses are free to generate profits and trade externally.

Those profits can then be invested in our not-for-profit members to increase the supply of social housing and improve the communities in which we work.

What employees say

We don’t just celebrate the big occasions. The celebration of smaller achievements means a lot , especially in such a large organisation. Little things like a signed birthday card from the Executive Management Team with a drinks voucher , or the quarterly briefing from the CEO where all employees feel empowered to continue their good work. These little things add up and help people feel valued.

What defines us

Regardless of their role or the company they work for, all employees within The Sovini Group live by a common purpose: creating opportunity and changing lives.

When it comes to promoting how great it is to work at The Sovini Group, we're happy to let our employees do that talking!

John Mitchell from Teal Scaffold said:

“You can tell a great company by the feel you get when you first walk in. I’ve only been in the job a short time and already I get a really good feeling about this company.”

David Conway, a Yard Operative from Carroll Waste, said:

“I was made to feel very welcome from the start. The best thing for me about working here is the staff socials and parties. There is nowhere else that offers this where I’ve worked previously. Staff receive free food and drink which is a bonus. It’s a good gesture to keep staff morale up.”

What inspires us

Employees across The Sovini Group enjoy a host of great benefits throughout the year.

Bill Merritt, ASB Officer at One Vision Housing, said:

“When I joined One Vision Housing I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had a staff incentive scheme in place. I have never worked in anywhere were this type of scheme has been in place. The fact that all employees receive the bonus if they achieve certain targets means that in April employees are all fired up for the following year!”

Employees from Sovini Property Services enjoyed a summer camping trip in the Lake District.

Senior Scheduler Hannah Clinton said: “I had a really good time. The organisation of the location, food and drink was excellent and made it really easy for everyone. It was a great opportunity to get to know people and I hope we can do it again next year.”

Employees at Pine Court Housing Association are able to take annual leave in extended blocks to enable them to visit family in South East Asia.

Wilson Lau, Bilingual Housing Assistant at Pine Court , said:

“It is really good for us. I recently went over to Hong Kong for four weeks which enabled me to visit some elderly relatives and also do some travelling around mainland China. Pine Court is only a small organisation but the fact that so many of us have been able to take advantage of this is great.”

Action highlights

The Sovini Group is bucking the national trend on gender pay. The 2018/19 gender pay analysis for The Sovini Group has revealed salaries of female employees compare favourably with their male colleagues. The Group’s gender pay gap is now -4.91% in favour of female employees.

The Sovini Group has introduced a number of initiatives to assist with salary monitoring, including a full salary review every two years and a transparent recruitment process.

Kerry Beirne, The Sovini Group Head of People and Learning, said: “We strive to ensure equality of pay for all our employees. Our approach to gender pay further reiterates our ongoing commitment to equality of opportunity and supports our inclusive culture.”

Word from the top

We have made significant progress since our formation, not only with the evolution of the organisation, but also in cementing our position as a great employer.

I’m proud that we’ve built a successful business that feels like a family, where people care about what they do and support each other to achieve it.
