About us
Our History
Marshall was founded in 1909 by Mr D.G. Marshall M.B.E. as a small chauffeur drive company in Cambridge with just two cars on the fleet.
Today we are the 7th largest motor group in the UK. The Group operates 117 franchises representing 24 manufacturing brands in 28 different counties across England. We have a turnover in excess of £2.3bn per annum and currently employ just over 4,000 colleagues.
Our Vision
We have a clear vision “To be the UK’s Premier Automotive Retail Group.” To achieve our vision we have created a customer centric culture, as well as operating as a world class retailer who delivers retailing excellence so that we can be regarded as the employment destination in our sector.
When the strategy was launched, we recognised that our people would be at the heart of our success. As a result, in 2008 we launched our first Great Place to Work® survey to ensure we had independent governance of our colleague engagement measurement. We have been committed to this programme ever since.
Our Values
Everything we do is underpinned by our values which are woven in to the fabric of our business:
• Recognising that people are the heart of our success
• Putting our customers above all else
• Upholding the highest standards of integrity and fairness
• Maintaining competitive edge by innovation and creativity
