    Company Overview G.S. Shropshire & Sons Ltd is a family-owned business farming 1,400 ha of land, primarily on the Fenland of West Norfolk, near Downham Market. G S Shropshire & Sons have been a member of G’s Growers since 1984 The crops on the majority of the farm are in a ring fence, with uniform, deep peat soil type. The farm specialises in the growing of Romaine and Iceberg lettuce, celery, Chinese leaf and radish. The farm employs 18 colleagues on an annual basis with the workforce increasing to ~25 during the seasonal harvest period. The unique nature of the farm, results in it working harmoniously with nature, The British Trust for Ornithology has been surveying nightingales on the farm for many years and estimate that the farm has one of the densest breeding populations of nightingales in the country due to the numerous hedgerows and nearby watercourses. The General Manager is Martin Hammond.
