Since the first polymer banknote was issued in Australia in 1988, our sophisticated Guardian™ substrate has been issued on more than 170 denominations and commemorative banknotes around the world. Multiple research projects, often commissioned by central banks, show that polymer substrate banknotes last at least 4 times longer, significantly reduce counterfeiting thanks to both the material used and the ability to include advanced security features, and produce up to 48.8% fewer greenhouse gases than their paper counterparts.
