About us

Principality Building Society is a mutually-owned organisation, formed in 1860. It is Wales’ largest building society, and the 6th largest in the UK, with 53 branches and 17 agencies across Wales and the borders and assets of almost £10billion.We are committed to supporting the affordable housing market in Wales, with our Commercial team providing a £50m lending facility for housing associations.

Our purpose is to help people prosper in their homes at every stage of life. We believe that home is at the heart of life; it's where plans, decisions and memories are made and it's where we'll help to change our Members lives for the better.

We take this approach with our colleagues too, helping them prosper at every stage of their working life with us by ensuring that Principality’s culture creates a fulfilling and positive workplace, where people matter.

What employees say

"Our People Pact is a two-way commitment, an emotional contract between the organisation and colleagues based on a full understanding of what is expected both ways. It is an honest and open view of what we can expect from one another, a two-way deal when it comes to working at Principality Building Society." Lorna Kerr, Chief People Officer

Application tips

Lorna Kerr, our Chief People Office says: "We are big enough to have large ambition, but small enough to value, respect and engage everyone as an individual. We are firmly connected into the communities that all our colleagues live and work in, and we strive to have a diverse workforce that are representative of our members. As a business, we are keen to recruit talented individuals who are interested in joining a company in which they can really make a difference. Although we have been established for over 150 years, we pride ourselves on our progressive environment, which encourages our colleagues to thrive. Our culture is renowned for being friendly, open and inclusive where we actively encourage everyone to bring themselves to work. If you choose to work for us, you’ll find a great workplace with a family atmosphere and lots of opportunities to develop and grow. We are currently on an exciting transformative journey, with a strong vision of a brighter future with continued growth."
