At Open SU, our student union mission is to make a positive difference for all Open University students, wherever they are based. Our vision focuses on how Open SU uses a proactive student-led framework to serve as our guiding motivation.
Open SU will:
1) Empower a student voice that is effective in representing the diversity of our members;
2) Work collaboratively to ensure that students are at the centre of decision-making;
3) Build an inclusive community to nurture a sense of pride and belonging;
4) Provide relevant, quality services which enhance student experience.

Working at Open SU
We are a well-travelled team, attending Graduations, meet-ups and, events such as Open University Student Consultations.
We encourage progression for students and staff. Natalie (right) was a Student President, before joining the staff team.
As part of team well-being we sometimes get involved in activities outside when we're all on campus, weather allowing...
We value sustainability and Open SU volunteer for litter picks, tree planting and creating a hedgehog friendly campus!
Our Big Student Meetups see all hands-on deck, with staff working together to improve the student communities available.
This year’s staff “Treasure Hunt” saw some teams laying down on the job! Whether leaders or staff, everyone is welcome.
Our all-staff Huddle meetings see us work in different groups together from across Open SU, outside of our usual teams.
