About Littleport Mushroom Farms
Littleport Mushrooms is a state-of-the-art farm near Littleport, Ely. It commenced production in November 2012 with supply of mushrooms to retail and foodservice customers. The farm consists of 48 growing tunnels, and grows button, closed cup and flat white mushrooms alongside a packhouse for mushrooms and radish Extensive areas around the farm are managed for wildlife. These include 0.8 hectare shallow water marsh for wading birds and wildfowl, 0.5 hectare wild bird seed mix that provides seeds for farmland birds to eat during the winter and over 40,000 trees have been planted to create nesting habitat for birds. The farm employs 430 colleagues on an annual basis - providing permanent jobs all year round. The farm plays an active role in hosting local schools and community visits, while also contributing to Open Farm Sunday and local charity initiatives. The Chief Operating Officer is Peter Sargeant.
