Here's what employees had to say about working at the number 1 UK's Best Workplaces for Women:
Happy - No.1 Small
“I have never worked in a company where so much trust is given to employees. I feel empowered to make the job my own. I feel I can bring my whole self to work. I feel supported throughout via coaching and peer support. Senior Leadership is very approachable and I feel I can ask about anything. I love the high degree of transparency and that we know what's going on. That helps me feel psychologically safe. The fact that we focus so much on working to strengths brings much more joy to my day to day work.”
Organix Brands Ltd - No.1 Medium
“Our comprehensive training and communication of menopause actively encourages both men and women in our organisation to attend training talks about the symptoms and how people could be supported. Women talk openly about their challenges and feel safe to do so."
Powerforce Field Marketing - No.1 Large
“The supportive and collaborative colleagues create an environment of trust and camaraderie, while the leadership's accessibility fosters open communication and a sense of empowerment. Together, they make Powerforce a workplace where personal and professional growth feels genuinely encouraged.”
Kids Planet Day Nurseries - No.1 Super Large
“This company is extremely family orientated and looks after their own. They believe in their core values set and ensure their staff are happy too. They continue to listen to suggestions put forward and this helps to create the wonderful working environment and also helps improve processes.”
Despite the strides made in recent years, the journey towards true workplace equity for women remains unfinished. In our recent European Workforce Study, the work experiences of women in the UK ranked only 11th out of 19 countries.
It is crucial for organisations to address the persistent challenges women are facing head on, fostering an environment where all employees can genuinely excel and contribute to their fullest potential, regardless of gender. One of the most promising drivers of change is
the rise of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) – voluntary, employee-led communities that provide support, advocacy, and development opportunities.
