About us

We’ve been in the business of supplying architectural ironmongery to tradespeople for over 50 years, including builders, joiners, and maintenance companies, to name a few. We started out as a traditional ironmongery shop, but today we deliver thousands of parcels every week to tradespeople all over the UK, taking orders over the phone and through our website.

With over 18,000 top quality products in stock for next day delivery, we are well known in the industry and position ourselves as  “masters of our trade”. We have various service offerings which support this including:

But what is WOW? We translate this into ‘do it for your Mum [WOW upside down is MOM]. If our staff are unsure of the WOW mentality when dealing with our customers (both internal and external) think of the “MOM analogy.” If it was your mom on the end of the phone, or in your office with a problem what level of service would you offer? It would be the best. If something went wrong, you’d go the extra mile to personally accept responsibility, successfully resolve the issue and leave your MOM (and therefore the customer and colleagues) feeling WOWed. That is our culture and expectation of our employees.

Action highlights

One of the many HR initiatives in IronmongeryDirect is our Learning Week.  We have one week every 3 months dedicated to our employee's learning new skills. 

We have sessions led by our own people, including Directors, Managers and our staff on topics like finance, IT skills and what activities we undertake to produce our catalogues.

All staff are encouraged to attend as many sessions as they can and ones that covers areas they are unfamiliar with.  This not only allows for confidence building on our presenters, but our staff learning more about the roles and activities in the business so they continue to WOW!  Every session they attend goes towards achieving the Company standard of 40 hours of learning each year.
