About us

In an era where speed to market is the key differentiator, Armakuni are specialists in driving the cultural and technical change required to build high quality, robust & reliable software products at high velocity. We work with a wide range of organisations, from start-ups to global enterprises providing a mix of consultancy, training, adoption programmes, team augmentation and outcome delivery to help the organisation in its journey towards a learning organisation that can adopt and leverage the power of Cloud Native technology and practices. We specialise in software and infrastructure delivery, primarily on cloud, but also on-prem where relevant. Our focus on learning is what makes us different, and our people are passionate about giving client teams the skills they need to ensure that the change we drive is sustainable once we have gone.

What employees say

"The focus on continuous learning, teaching and embedding new ways of working is at the heart of what we do. It is what makes Armakuni unique and as an offering it has been developed and honed significantly in the last 12 months. I have seen the value that it can deliver to organisations but, more importantly for me, to the developers we work with. We really are returning creativity and joy to the world of software engineering and delivery and that is something that I expect will keep me here for another three years and beyond."   Rob Summers

I am offered training or development to further myself professionally.

This is a friendly place to work.

We're all in this together.

What defines us

We have invested significantly in workplace experience, including but not limited to 10% time for learning, annual learning budgets, regular all-hands events to align on vision and purpose (and have fun too). These people focused improvements are combined with improvements to how we design engagements with clients with a focus on ensuring people are working on what they love and have every chance to be successful.

As the business has grown we have invested substantially and continually in a culture based on empowerment, self-determination and autonomy and a belief that our people are both able to and best placed to make decisions and deliver outcomes. This has been essential to ensure people continue to thrive but also that we can support an ever growing number of clients that share a belief in our vision and purpose.

One of the key elements of our success has been the enthusiasm with which our engineers work. They genuinely believe in our purpose to return creativity and joy to the world of software development. This enthusiasm rubs off on our clients in our engagements and leads us to winning more work.

What inspires us

Every 2 weeks we have an Armakuni Day. Over the preceding weeks we all contribute areas of innovation and learning that we'd like to explore further. At the beginning of the day the originators pitch the ideas to the whole company and we self-organise to explore them; at the end of the day we present the results and celebrate (at least a round of applause). This not only gets the whole team together, allows time to explore and learn, but crucially moves utilisation down from 100%, which causes stress and promotes burnout. A really inspiring event!
