About us

justteachers is a leading supplier of teachers, nursery nurses and support staff into schools, colleges and nurseries nationwide. Our continued expansion reflects the high level of service we deliver to our members, our commitment to safeguarding and the support we offer our candidates and clients to ensure they can focus on delivering outstanding education. Our REC gold accreditation means that we provide a risk managed service to both teaching staff and schools.

Our mission is:

To ensure that our recruitment and selection procedures fulfil responsibilities to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and for all our team to share this commitment. We adopt a Safer Recruitment Policy in line with the Department for Education’s ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ to satisfy the Ofsted principle of ‘minimising risk to children, young people and adults by evaluating the effectiveness of schools’ procedures for safeguarding’ – Ofsted Framework for School Inspection April 2018.

By meeting this commitment to safeguarding and through the support we offer our candidates, our clients can focus on delivering outstanding education.

What employees say

I started working at justteachers in 2014, being appointed as an Education Recruitment Consultant. My background prior to this was in design and sales, so I had a good grounding and understanding of the sales process, but was given additional support and guidance to transfer my skills and develop my career within the education sector. My role has evolved to being responsible for building a new area geographically, in particular supporting SEN and SEMH settings within North and West Yorkshire. Visiting client schools and seeing the difference our candidates have made, is the most rewarding part of my job. Having been recently promoted to Team Leader, I am continuing to be supported through justteachers to complete Diploma for Managers- which I look forward to doing so by the end of 2019.

What defines us

“Working for justteachers isn’t like working for another agency, yes there are the individual perks like free fruit and wellbeing lunches, and the occasional visits from Una the office dog, but mainly what makes JT a great place to work is culture.

Lots of places will tell you they have an open-door culture, they will keep telling you until you attempt to walk through it- and then you will find the door can be rather less open than they said initially. justteachers is a little different, the door is really open, and from sales support all the way to the top billing consultant, I know that If I want to ask advice or help from anyone, they will try to find the time for me. For me, that’s the main difference- and what means the place deserves its title as a great place to work.” John Pease, Education Consultant- Coventry Office

Word from the top

Education recruitment businesses, such as justteachers, play a vital role in lessening the impact of teacher shortages through their valuable support and assistance to both schools and teachers throughout the UK. justteachers’ continued expansion reflects the high level of service it delivers to its members, its commitment to safeguarding and the support it can offer its candidates and clients to ensure they can focus on delivering outstanding education. None of this however would be possible without our internal staff.  We consistently recognise and reward the contribution of all our staff, not just through a generous and transparent remuneration package but with continual team focused incentives. We encourage a relaxed and fun working environment with emphasis on well-being, ability to leave early and flexibility to have extended lunch breaks for such things as fitness activity. We want our culture to reflect the fact we are the “JT family” where every person matters.

Application tips

Have you got what we're looking for?

We are committed to investing in and building upon a team of highly talented and motivated people. We recognise the contribution of all staff and their wellbeing. justteachers pride ourselves on our staff retention and longevity of service, putting employees at the heart of our organisation- offering full training from day one.

All new applicants are filtered via our internal recruitment team to ensure that they have the experience to support working in a sales and recruitment environment. All selected applicants undergo a telephone interview and if this is successful they are invited to a two-round interview process and also asked to undertake an on-line evaluation designed to identify their key strengths and attributes and also any barriers to success based on the answers provided.

We combine the results of this assessment with the two- part interview and make a decision based on their overall performance. During the second interview applicants are invited to spend half a day in the office to see how they interact with their prospective team, determine how engaged they are and to help them build a picture of what would be expected of them if they are employed by us. Key characteristics are tenacity, resilience, enthusiasm, positive outlook, willingness to learn, a good team player and an air of self-confidence.

Our great workplace

We hire candidates based on their fit for the role and our company culture. Our hiring process is thorough and gives candidates the opportunity to meet the manager, the team and also to spend some time within the positive working environment.
