Danone Early Life Nutrition

Manufacturing & Production
About us

Dedicated to bringing health through food to as many people as possible (our mission), Danone is a leading global food & beverages company built on three health-focused businesses: Essential Dairy & Plant-Based Products, Waters and Specialized Nutrition (including Early Life Nutrition and Advanced Medical Nutrition).

We aim to inspire healthier and more sustainable eating and drinking practices, in line with our vision - Danone, One Planet. One Health - which reflects a strong belief that the health of people and the health of the planet are interconnected.

Our unique health-focused portfolio of iconic brands includes in the UK: Evian, Volvic, Activia, Actimel, Cow & Gate, Aptamil and Nutricia.

Danone is present in over 120 countries, with over 100,000 employees working in over 55 countries.

In the UK and Ireland there are around 2,000 Danoners, across six office and factory locations.

The Early Life Nutrition UK business is based in Chiswick Park, London. Our core purpose is to support mothers and babies to get the best possible nutrition in the first 1000 days - from the start of pregnancy until her baby is two years old – because it can positively influence health for a lifetime.

We do this in multiple ways beyond our products, for instance through responsible marketing practices, sharing scientific data and education.

What employees say

ELN UK goes to great lengths to make each of their employees be part of a bigger purpose than just creating healthy revenue growth. They make sure the work that you do is meaningful and that it has both a benefit/impact to customers by creating products that respond to their nutritional need, and also has an impact into the society and the world we live in. So everything we do has always a double purpose, and that is something that inspires and makes me feel proud to be an employee.

What defines us

In a speech made in 1972, Danone’s co-founder and then CEO Antoine Riboud famously established Danone’s dual project for business success and social progress. He explained his vision of the company's role by stating that economic and social goals are interdependent. He proclaimed that companies could operate a profitable business with economic and social benefits.

“Corporate responsibility does not end at the factory gate or the office door. We should lead our companies with our hearts as much as our heads.”

This visionary thinking provided the cornerstone for Danone's dual economic and social project. To this day, our teams around the world imagine operating models that create economic, social and environmental value.

We are striving to bring healthier eating and drinking practices for people around the world, through responsible brands and sustainable business practices, in line with our vision and ambition.

In ELN UK it is a sense of great pride among employees of their role having greater meaning. They are inspired not only by what we do – our products, the importance of the category in which we operate – but also the way in which we do business – our culture and the standards to which we hold ourselves.

What inspires us

100,000 Danoners building the future strategy of the business together

Whoever you are in Danone and ELN UK you can make a difference – both to our business strategy and to our environment and local communities.

Through our innovative global One Person, One Voice, One Share programme, every employee has the opportunity to co-own and co-create their local business and global Danone roadmap. And every day in our ELN UK roles there is involvement in defining our business. All Danoners are encouraged and equipped to have the mindset of being forward-thinking leaders, to bring breakthrough results and to overcome challenges.

The global health mission of Danone inspires our own approach to employees’ wellbeing. Our UK One Health programme connects employees with that health vision and ensures they know that they work in a culture where their health and wellbeing is taken care of.

We have also created our own programmes that reflect the Group’s social responsibility vision. These include giving employees two days each year to devote to volunteering.

Career and jobs

Application tips

Our recruitment process is designed to help you understand if Danone is the right place for you. The most important start point for us is uncovering your passion for our business – your connection with our pursuit of bringing good health through food to all and with our dual economic and social project.

Do you share our values and ethos?

The quality that makes the difference isn't always tangible. It's a state of mind, a willingness to question and challenge, a unique way of looking at the world. Our culture is built on four values - Humanism, Openness, Proximity and Enthusiasm (HOPE).

These values guide the way we behave every day, the way we work and progress in our business, the way we connect with our communities, and the way we develop people. All over the world our 100,000 employees demonstrate the same openness, the same desire to share, and the same unwavering passion to deliver.

Our values are the beliefs we hold internally, and our CODES behaviours are how we demonstrate and bring these values to life. CODES shapes all of our people strategies, from recruiting for CODES behaviours to designing our learning program to develop and grow CODES leaders.

Our great workplace

ELN UK’s physical environment at Chiswick Park reflects our collaborative, non-hierarchical culture. It has been designed to allow networking and collaboration. The open plan, hot desk layout supports employees to share knowledge quickly, and also a way of working that allows teams to form and reform quickly around the key priorities of the business.

Everyone sits on collaborative desking alongside Exec members (there are no directors offices), which allows easy conversation flows and opportunities to listen.

Breakout areas enable different working styles – diner-style booths that enable people to work together on topics, sofas and chairs that allow informal style meetings. Standing and sitting bars to work on bigger team topics.

Danone occupies one of 12 office buildings in the wider Chiswick Park campus run by Enjoy Work. Each building faces the Park's 'inner garden' with a lake, waterfall, boardwalk, events space and landscaping.

The Park also houses an on-site Virgin Active gym, restaurants, convenience stores and an ever-changing array of pop-up traders and street-food vendors.

In the summer you’ll often find Danoners conducting meetings in deckchairs by the lake or taking part in the numerous onsite activities such as beach volleyball, table tennis and even pedaloes!
