The Great Place to Work^® Institute UK, with the support of Business in the Community, are delighted to present this year's Health and Wellbeing Award to W.L. Gore.

W.L. Gore has demonstrated that they have a strong commitment to the health of their workforce.  They offer a wide range of working practices to ensure the health and wellbeing of their staff, from 100% healthcare for all employees, dental and mental healthcare included, regular Medical Health checks for staff, to providing stockings to prevent DVT for employees who are regular air travellers and safe driving courses for employee car drivers. They also have taskforces in place to address issues such as healthy eating, smoking cessation and possible future health scares such as Avian Flu.

By constantly monitoring their programmes to make sure they are effective, they have taken the long-term approach in terms of their investment in this area and proven that they are serious about developing a sustainable health and wellbeing programme. In addition to providing an Occupational Health Advisor for their staff, they have also opened the service to include advice for their families.
